Sex-Ed for Cyclical Beings
Body literacy as birth control & embodied self-knowledge 〰
Class begins March 26th
Fertile Soil is a 7-week live course where you’ll learn fertility awareness through a pleasure-centered, spirit-honoring, justice-rooted lens 〰
“be careful
i am fertile
a soil thick with promise
a mouth full of petals
you can feel when you are near me
how i may touch you
and you may blossom."
~ adrienne maree brown

Questions? Here are some answers ✦
-
Absolutely. Fertile Soil will build a strong foundation of knowledge for when you're ready to transition off. You'll learn the theory, understand what to look for, and start a cycle tracking practice so you’ll be ready when you come off hormonal contraception.
If you’re currently on birth control and don’t plan to transition off of it, you are still welcome, though the material will be less relevant for you.
-
Not at all! While we are focused on using fertility awareness as contraception, body literacy is valuable whether you're partnered, single, sexually active, or celibate. Understanding your fertility signs helps you know your body intimately, track your health, and prepare for whatever your future holds.
-
Every call is recorded and available within 24 hours, and there is also a community forum where you can ask questions outside the calls. That said, I encourage you to attend live when possible — the real-time Q&A and group energy is part of the magic. But life happens, and the recordings ensure you won't miss anything (or can revisit as desired).
-
You'll need 1-2 hours for the weekly live call (or to watch the recording), plus about 5-10 minutes each morning to take your temperature and observe your fertility signs. The daily practice is quick but consistent (think of it like brushing your teeth). Some weeks may have light homework (watching a short video, reading an article), but the time commitment is manageable.
-
You'll have access to the course recordings and our community space for 3 months total—throughout the entire 7-week course plus 5 additional weeks afterward. This gives you plenty of time to ask questions, share your charts for feedback, troubleshoot tricky observations, and get support as you practice independently.
After 3 months, you'll be able to download all the course materials to keep for as ling as you’d like.

I deeply believe this work should be accessible, and there are a limited number of full and partial scholarship spots available.

Perfect! I'll teach you everything from scratch, no prior knowledge needed. Whether you've never tracked your cycle or you've dabbled with apps but want deeper understanding, you'll learn the complete symptothermal method step by step. We start with the basics and build from there.
-
When practiced correctly, the symptothermal fertility awareness method is 99.4% effective, which is comparable to the pill. The key is learning it properly and using it consistently. I'll teach you how to identify your fertile window with confidence and what to do during those days to prevent pregnancy. You'll also learn when barrier methods are needed and how to troubleshoot mistakes.
-
Yes, you'll need a basal body thermometer (I'll recommend specific ones—usually $10-30) and optionally a fertility tracking app or paper charts (I provide templates). You may also wish to purchase some of the herbs we discuss in week 6, but they’re not essential. That's it!
𓆸 Meet Your Teacher
I'm Sabrina — a certified herbalist and women's health educator who weaves together the science of body literacy with herbal wisdom, connection with spirit, and a grounding in history and sociology. Fertile Soil was born from the intersection of those things, as well as from my deep and fervent belief in body literacy as a tool of empowerment.
I’ve studied under herbalists and medicine women, medical doctors and naturopaths. But my deepest education came from years of tracking my own cycle, and using it as a tool for preventing pregnancy, healing my painful menstrual cycle, and connecting deeply with my body.
I want to join!
